چکیده

High-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) ablation is a safe and effective minimally invasive option for treating uterine fibromas, but it can cause complications such as abdominal wall defects. Reconstruction of defects be challenging, latissimus dorsi musculocutaneous free flap used to restore the integrity myofascial layer provide external cutaneous coverage. Herein, we present case report 37-year-old woman who underwent HIFU an 8-cm fibroma subsequently developed large defect with necrosis rectus muscle. The was reconstruct muscle cover soft tissue, resulting in successful engraftment without complications. We our experience using HIFU-induced composite wall.

Breast reconstruction using a latissimus dorsi flap after mastectomy.

INTRODUCTION The latissimus dorsi (LD) myocutaneous flap has long been regarded as the second choice flap for autologous breast reconstruction following a mastectomy in our department. Despite uncertainty about donor-site morbidity, it is regarded as a relatively safe procedure; moreover, in contrast to our first choice, the deep inferior epigastric perforator flap, no microsurgical expertise i...

Reconstruction of the pelvis and perineum with a free latissimus dorsi myocutaneous flap: a case report

Reconstruction of the perineum and pelvic cavity in continuity is an uncommon and difficult challenge. This case describes a 66-year-old man who presented following recurrence of a Dukes' B rectosigmoid adenocarcinoma that had been treated nine years previously by anterior resection, 5-fluorouracil and radiotherapy. His recurrent disease was treated with radical pelvic exenteration with format...

Complex posterior thoracic wall reconstruction using a crossover combined latissimus dorsi and serratus anterior free flap.

Radical resection of an extended malignant sarcoma of the chest wall requires full-thickness thoracic chest wall reconstruction. Reconstruction is tedious in the case of posteriorly located tumours, because the ipsilateral pedicled myocutaneous latissimus dorsi flap is involved and hence not usable for soft tissue coverage. We report an original case of a left giant dorsal chondrosarcoma origin...

Latissimus dorsi free flap reconstruction of major abdominal defect in treatment of giant Marjolin’s ulcer: a short report focused on preoperative imaging

We present a case of a 56-year-old man with a giant carcinoma in the abdominal wall. Based on positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) scan there were FDG-avid lymph nodes in the ipsilateral axillary and groin, suspicious for metastases. At contrast-enhanced CT the parietal peritoneum seemed free of tumor invasion, which was essential to radical surgery planning. The tumor was ...

Reverse bilateral latissimus dorsi flap reconstruction after extensive mid back dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans excision: a case report

Surgical resection of soft tissue sarcoma of the trunk can result in large defects requiring complex reconstruction for coverage of vital neurovascular structures and tissue defect. Large defects of the back could be reconstructed with multiple random pattern or local pedicled flaps. We present the case of a 48-year-old patient with a locally advanced dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans of the back...
